We were super excited to hear that our favorite Peloton coach Becs Gentry is going to compete in the Olympic Trials for Team GB which will be taking on March 26, 2021. We could tell that Becs had been hammering it in training based on some her talk.
The event will take place at Kew Gardens in Richmond, UK.
Can Becs Gentry make TeamGB?
What are Becs’ chances of making the team GB though?
Becs has been a pretty amazing amateur and it’s clear she has upside given she’s never trained professionally.
The qualifying time is 2:29:30, while her PR is 2:37:01. That 2:37:01 came at New York, which is regarded as a fairly challenging course with some significant hills. In addition, she’ll have to finish in the top 3. The field is expected to include just 30 professional women. We’re not even sure if Becs is considered a pro – at NYC she earned the honor of top amateur woman in the field.
We suspect if Becs can run 2:29:30, she’ll make the Olympics. According to Power of 10, Stephanie Davis and Sarah Inglis have been in the 2:29 time vicinity recently and will be top competition.
